Weekend Show - Adrian Day and Josef Schachter – Gold, Critical Minerals, Oil and Natural Gas Stocks

Welcome to the KE Report Weekend Show! We hope all of our American listeners are having a very happy Thanksgiving weekend. We really appreciate you taking time out of your weekend to tune in.

On this Weekend's Show we focus on investing in gold, critical minerals, oil and natural gas stocks. There are some comments on the macro environment but most of the time is focused on investing in larger cap stocks and higher dividend paying stocks.

Segment 1 and 2 - Adrian Day,  Founder of Adrian Day Asset Management and manager of the Euro Pacific Gold Fund, kicks off the show to focus on gold and critical minerals stocks. We start by recapping the Q3 earnings from major gold companies. This ties into a discussion on M&A in the gold sector and which companies will start buying assets. We also look to the critical minerals sector and ask Adrien what minerals he likes and the type of companies he is investing in.

Segment 3 and 4 - Josef Schachter, Editor of the Schachter Energy Report wraps up the show with a recap of the oil price drivers around the world. We then have Josef explain when he thinks oil and natural gas stocks will bottom, and which stocks are top on his buy list.

Lumber Futures Turning Back Down?

Lumber futures had a nice $70 jump in just over a month due to T Bond rates falling. Looking at the chart the short term up move may already be over.

Home building stocks may have hit resistance.

VVOS Vivos Thera Massive 833% Gain Overnight.

 

The RSI on VVOS stock never gave a SELL signal by trading below 50.

The question was when to get in. The open has high volume but more volatility, waiting for the stock to touch the EMA would have gotten you in at around $11.50.

The stock did trade below the EMA at $16.50 which would have been a premature sell, but at profit of $5.00 non the less. Waiting until the close, meant that you not only had nerves of steel but a crazy profit of $29.50,  or 156% for the day.

Unfortunately for the overnight holders VVOS ended at $29.50 down 28% in after market hours.

GME Gamestop closed up 20% overnight and a potential 10% intraday profit.

 

Daytrading GME would have given you a BUY after crossing above the EMA at $15.30 just before 11:00am, the SELL price was $16.80 when the RSI crossed below 50 and the stock crossed below the EMA. No other trades as it was late in the day.

Only $1.50 using just 2 indicators, but a decent % return for a day trade.

RDHL Redhill Pharma up 128% Today

 

RDHL was up 128% today.

Using only the 10ema indicator to buy and sell you would have completed 3 full trades, and it would have brought you about the same profit % without any overnight risk. If this was your only trade for the year, you would outperform 99% of all investors.

SHOT Shot Safety Massive Volume Spike, Is it Over?

 

SHOT on today's daily chart we see that there was a small pop this morning in pre-market but that gave an opportunity to longs who didn't sell at higher levels to get out at a half decent price.

Right after the open at $5.67 would have been an ideal selling price, as it was downhill from there (see the down trend line).  Short term scalpers could have bought at the break at $3.10 and made at least 40 cents as it traded range bound between $3.50 and $4.00 until the close.

The stock experienced a blow off volume of 67 million shares, usually an indicator that "the party is over".

Yesterday I wrote about SHOT and said "Stocks with charts like this usually come down just as fast as they climb so a trailing stop loss is a good idea." 

Was I correct?

The top chart is a 3 month chart, and if you understand Japanese candles you will know that the shape of today's candle is bearish despite the stock closing higher. 

The lower chart is a daily chart, and if you had used the RSI (crossing below 50), a break below the upward trendline, or a trailing 15% stop loss you would have sold at around the $6.40 level.

Congratulations.

Make a list of what you learned today, and move forward to the next stock.
